Can I eat it?

Crystalline fructose has a low reference GI, around 15, but it remains a free sugar. A low glucose response does not make it a preferred PCOS sweetener.

At your table

Separate powder from whole fruit

More about blood sugar

Glycemic index (GI): Low · 15

GI describes how quickly a food containing carbohydrates raises blood sugar in a test. It does not rate the whole meal or tell you exactly how your body will respond. The amount you eat and what you eat with it also matter.

Common questions

Should I avoid whole fruit because it contains fructose?+

Usually no; whole fruit differs from isolated sugar and can be part of a varied eating pattern.
